Prerequisites

The Midland MBA is a rigorous, fast-paced program that will challenge students as they work through subjects for the first time and/or return to subjects previously introduced for a deeper examination to achieve mastery.  However, in an effort to build a diverse class and professional network for students, prior business coursework or training is not required.

Previous Work

GMAT: The graduate management admission test (GMAT) is not required for admission to the Midland MBA. If you have already completed this exam and wish to send your scores, we will consider them as part of your application, but find the exam is not the only predictor of success in our application-focused MBA.

Previous business courses: Prior undergraduate training in business is not required for admission to the Midland MBA. Previous coursework in core subjects may be applied to the first four courses of the MBA under the Prior Credit path.

A bachelor's degree in any field is required to start a master's degree program.

Professional Experience

The Midland MBA curriculum is challenging, and designed to be taken sequentially; many courses that come in the advanced core build directly on content covered in the foundational core of the program. For most students, taking the full version of all courses in the curriculum – even if they have touched on some of the topics in previous course work – will help them develop a firmer grasp on key concepts that will be needed to excel in subsequent courses at the graduate level. However, some students have significant experience in one or more of the courses covered in these foundational core courses, and may wish to have their prior work in this field evaluated in order to take a professional experience track through the course. If approved, these students will complete only a portion of the work assigned for the course, as determined by the professor and program administration, to receive a final grade and credit for the course.

For these students that have significant experience in one or more of the courses covered in these foundational core courses, they have the option to have their prior work in this field evaluated in order to take a professional experience track through the course.

Transfer Credit

The Midland MBA is designed as a cohort-based curriculum, allowing students to progress together through core concepts as they develop broad business training.

Students who have completed previous graduate level coursework at other instutitions may be eligible, however, to transfer in previous credit earned. Students who have completed relevant course work within the past 7 years and earned a B (3.0) or higher in the course should submit the Transfer Credit Form and copies of any relevant transcripts for a personalized transfer evaluation.
