Midland University Announces MBA Classes Are Tuition Free for Life for MBA Grads
Becomes Region’s First and Only MBA Program to Make Lifetime Promise

Today, Midland University announced to current, former, and prospective students that MBA courses will be available to alumni of the MBA program, tuition free, for life. This “MBA for Life” program extends the value of the MBA degree well past graduation, inviting graduates of the program to return to their alma mater tuition-free to brush up on skills or learn new ones as their career needs change five, ten, or twenty years down the line.

Already unique in the region as Omaha’s only hybrid MBA Program, the MBA for Life initiative continues to set the Midland MBA program apart for its focus on the needs of working professionals.

“The rapid pace of change in the workplace today makes it crucial for professionals to continually update their skills,” Midland University President Jody Horner said. “Our MBA faculty brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into the classroom, and now our alumni will be able to access that resource deep into their careers.”

Through the MBA for Life program, all Midland MBA graduates may take any additional elective course tuition free for life, paying only modest program fees, provided the course has capacity for additional students. Students may combine these elective courses into a certificate, or simply participate in the courses that add the most value in their careers.

Students may select from such electives as Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Financial Strategy for Value Creation, Sales and Leadership, Investment Management, and many others.

“Our alumni will grow through this, but they will also enrich the experience of our students when they take part in the idea exchange that goes on in our classes,” said Raymond Sass, dean of the Midland MBA Program. “Our goal is to extend the value of our MBA program by bringing more experiences into the classroom, and keeping the spirit of learning, growth, and networking alive well past graduation.”

The MBA for Life program fits with the Midland MBA’s focus on making education valuable and attainable for working professionals. As the area’s only hybrid MBA program, Midland MBA students meet in person for class about once per month to forge robust networks, and meet online in between to increase the flexibility of their education. Students also have the option to complete their degree on a 16-month or 24-month path. This means students with full-time jobs and families can balance business school while making lasting personal connections with their classmates and professors.

At least as valuable as the format, Midland’s real-world faculty prepares students for career growth by connecting leading business theory with current, applicable best-practice. Faculty members such as Avi Atholi, Senior Director of Data Management at First National Bank of Omaha, and Andrew Sherwood, Project Manager at Mutual of Omaha have successful business backgrounds with a range of experiences that can help students succeed.

“Midland University always is looking for ways to add value to the learning experience for all our students,” said Dr. Susan Kruml, Midland’s Vice President for Academic Affairs. “Initiatives like the 4-Year Graduation Guarantee for our undergraduate population, and the MBA for Life program for our MBA students help us fulfill our charge of sending graduates into the world who are equipped to live and lead in the world with purpose.”

The Midland MBA Program is designed to produce graduates who demonstrate highly developed analytic and communication skills, a thoughtful approach to ethical decision making, and mastery of the tools and concepts it takes to be a respected leader in business.

The next 16-month Hybrid MBA Program at Midland University starts in August with options to start at multiple points throughout the year.
