- Led Students to Graduation via Capstone Experience

Andrew Sherwood, MBA,MSC, PMP, PMI-ACP, CSSBB, CSP, CSM, stepped into the role of Interim Director of the MBA in November 2017. Sherwood was selected because of his leadership in developing Project Management courses through the Midland MBA in addition to his professional experiences as a project manager at Mutual of Omaha.

Sherwood's interim role has him overseeing faculty and teaching assistants, helping build connections with the Greater Omaha business community, teaching two Project Management courses, and leading Project Management Certificate students through preparation for Project Management Institute exams. The biggest part of his role is in leading MBA students through their final capstone project.

Midland MBA's Global Business & Consulting capstone Project helps students gain practical experience by completing a project with a globally-focused company based either locally or abroad. Sherwood helped build a mentoring partnership with the local chapter of the Project Management Institute to support the student teams through the projects.

"I am really proud to help build those connections for our students to the greater business community," said Sherwood. "The capstone experience is the highlight of our MBA and supporting their success is intense, challenging and ultimately extremely rewarding."

Sherwood plays an active role in the PMI Heartland Chapter, including sharing his academic experiences at the PMI Global Conference and at the PMI Heartland Chapter Professional Development Day. On Wednesday, February 21, 2018, the local chapter will host Sherwood and his team of mentors to share their recent capstone project experiences.
